I am sort of a trendsetter. I am quite sure that after posting this image of me wearing half of a cardboard fruit snacks box as a hat, a trend will be born.
I am naturally bald at this point, but have had this bizarre ostrich hair on the top of my head that somehow seems to be growing and dying simultaneously. It is hair of an unspecific color and a wispy, wirey nature. I could tell it was hair that would not fruitfully grow into anything meaningful, so I decided to shave my own head in the shower today.
This was actually kind of fun. I lathered my dome up and used my husband’s shave mirror and razor to trim the hedges. My head is so soft and smooth now. I can’t stop touching it. May as well enjoy my shiny top as long as I have it.
In other news, I felt relatively well this morning so I decided I would take a jog. My oldest child was acting a fool so I insisted he run with me to exorcise some of his ornery energy. I thought he would be the perfect exercise partner for me, as I did not think he would be able to run far. Wrong.
That 7.5 year old was an awesome runner and motivated me to keep up. We did 3 miles of mostly running with some sporadic skipping, stair running and bench squats. Did I mention it was raining the whole time? Probably very few of you can relate, but let me tell you, cool rain falling on a newly naked scalp while running feels wonderful. The perfect cooling method for a body in motion.
In an effort to further my wellness, I had an acupuncture appointment today. A dear friend of my sister, Anna Marie, gifted me my first visit to this new acupuncturist and ever since I have been hooked. Every time, the practitioner and I discuss what is currently ailing me and he needles me up. Today’s top complaints were: fatigue, wrist/arm pain from swelling and cancer.
To round out the good day, we took a family trip to Abt (if you don’t know what this is, I am sorry for you) where we ate fresh cookies, watched their fountain show, peeped on the giant fish tank and I bought myself a new MacBook Air. Why? Cause I fucking deserve it.
Mic drop.
Where did you get your sleeve?
