Hi, it’s Grace’s sister Jennie. A very brief update about how Grace is doing. She is in her room resting and gradually coming off the major pain meds/sleep drugs. Her surgeons reported that the mastectomy and reconstruction both went very well. It was a long operation. All good news from the surgery team.
Grace is beginning to sense where the pain will be, although she’s still mostly groggy and sleepy. I wouldn’t say she’s ‘comfortable,’ but she’s certainly doing well. Her wonderful nurses see her strength and sense her humor, even in these circumstances.
We’re told that tomorrow will be difficult, pain-wise. Everything is just baby steps for now and we’re just grateful for a successful surgery day and all of your love and support!
